Beyond the Boardroom: How Crestron VX Automate is Changing Modern Collaboration Spaces

RJWSEOTeam · May 7, 2026 ·

For many businesses, the idea of workplace AV still revolves around the traditional boardroom. A display on the wall, a conference table, and a camera pointed at the participants.

But modern collaboration environments have evolved far beyond that.

Today’s workplaces are more flexible, more connected, and often designed around hybrid communication, multi-purpose use, and user experience. From hospitality venues and training spaces through to executive briefing centres, flexible work environments, and large-scale integrated facilities, the expectations around technology have changed dramatically.

This is where solutions like Crestron VX Automate are reshaping the way organisations approach video collaboration.

What is Crestron VX Automate?

Crestron VX Automate is an intelligent multi-camera speaker tracking and automated framing solution designed to create a more natural and engaging meeting experience.

Rather than relying on a single static camera angle, the system intelligently switches between cameras, tracks active speakers, and dynamically frames participants in real time.

The result is a meeting experience that feels significantly more immersive and professional for both in-room and remote participants.

Moving Beyond “Basic” Meeting Room Technology

One of the biggest challenges with traditional meeting room setups is that they often feel rigid and impersonal. Remote attendees can struggle to follow conversations, presenters can appear disconnected, and larger spaces can quickly become difficult to manage effectively.

Modern AV environments require more than simply placing a camera at the front of the room.

Crestron VX Automate helps solve this by introducing:

– Intelligent camera automation

– Active speaker tracking

– Dynamic participant framing

– Seamless multi-camera switching

– Improved visibility for remote attendees

– More natural collaboration experiences

These features help bridge the gap between in-room and remote participants, creating a far more inclusive communication environment.

Not Just for Corporate Boardrooms

At Noisebox, we’re seeing increasing demand for integrated collaboration technology across a much wider range of environments.

Solutions like VX Automate are being considered for:

– Flexible workspaces

– Training and education environments

– Hospitality and event spaces

– Executive briefing centres

– Multi-purpose presentation areas

– Large integrated facilities

– Hybrid collaboration environments

The technology is no longer confined to a single “boardroom” application. Businesses are looking for solutions that adapt to how people actually use a space.

The Importance of Integration

Technology is only as effective as the experience it delivers.

A successful AV deployment is not just about installing hardware — it’s about designing an environment where every element works together seamlessly.

This includes:

– Camera positioning

– Audio intelligibility

– Room acoustics

– User workflow

– Automation logic

– Network infrastructure

– Platform compatibility

– Ease of use

At Noisebox, our approach focuses on building integrated environments that are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with how a space operates day to day.

Creating Better Hybrid Experiences

Hybrid work is no longer a temporary adjustment; it has become part of how many organisations operate.

The challenge now is ensuring remote participants feel equally engaged in the conversation.

Intelligent automation solutions like Crestron VX Automate help remove many of the friction points commonly associated with hybrid meetings by:

– Reducing manual camera operation

– Improving presenter visibility

– Capturing natural conversation flow

– Enhancing audience engagement

– Delivering a more polished meeting experience

When implemented correctly, the technology fades into the background, allowing communication to flow more naturally.

The Future of Collaboration Spaces

As workplaces evolve, demand for intelligent, flexible, and highly integrated AV environments will grow.

The future of workplace technology is not simply about adding more devices. It’s about creating environments that support better interaction, communication, and user experience.

Crestron VX Automate is one example of how modern AV technology is helping organisations move beyond traditional meeting room design and into more dynamic, adaptable collaboration environments.

At Noisebox, we continue to work with clients across a range of industries to design and deliver integrated AV environments tailored to the way their spaces are actually used.

The Benefits of Unified Communications for Modern Businesses

RJWDigital · Mar 12, 2026 ·

In today’s fast-paced business environment, effective communication is more than just an operational necessity—it’s a competitive advantage. Businesses that rely on fragmented communication tools often face productivity gaps, missed opportunities, and increased operational costs. This is where Unified Communications (UC) comes in, integrating voice, video, messaging, and collaboration tools into a single platform to transform how teams communicate, collaborate, and deliver value.

At Noisebox, we’ve helped businesses across Australia leverage UC solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance team collaboration. In this article, we explore the key benefits of unified communications and why your business should consider adopting it.

1. Enhanced Collaboration Across Teams

One of the biggest advantages of UC is its ability to bring teams together, regardless of location. Traditional communication often relies on separate tools for calls, emails, video conferences, and instant messaging. These disconnected systems create barriers to effective collaboration.

Unified Communications platforms consolidate all these tools into one seamless system. Employees can instantly see colleague availability, initiate video calls, join team chats, or collaborate on shared documents—all from a single interface.

Case in point: A mid-sized marketing agency we worked with struggled with project delays because team members were using multiple apps for messaging and video calls. After implementing UC, the agency reduced response times by 40%, enabling projects to move faster from concept to delivery.

2. Improved Mobility and Flexibility

The rise of remote work and hybrid business models has made mobility essential. Employees need to communicate and collaborate effectively whether they’re in the office, at home, or on the move.

Unified Communications platforms offer mobile apps and cloud-based access that allow staff to make calls, join meetings, and send messages from any device. This flexibility ensures operations continue uninterrupted, and employees remain productive regardless of location.

For example, a national logistics company implemented UC across its regional offices. Field staff could instantly connect with managers via mobile devices, resulting in faster decision-making and improved on-site efficiency.

3. Cost Efficiency

Maintaining multiple communication systems—phone lines, conferencing tools, messaging apps—can be costly. UC consolidates these systems, reducing infrastructure costs and simplifying maintenance.

Businesses also save on long-distance and international call charges through VoIP integration, while cloud-hosted UC solutions remove the need for expensive on-premise hardware.

One of our clients, a legal firm in Sydney, reported a 30% reduction in telecommunications costs within six months of deploying a UC solution. Beyond immediate savings, the firm benefited from simplified management and fewer IT headaches, allowing staff to focus on client service rather than technology issues.

4. Enhanced Customer Experience

A streamlined communication system improves customer interactions as well as internal operations. UC allows employees to respond faster to client enquiries through integrated channels such as phone, chat, email, and video conferencing.

Presence indicators show who is available, reducing missed calls and emails, while call routing and unified inbox features ensure clients reach the right person every time.

In practice, a healthcare provider we assisted halved their average patient response times, resulting in higher patient satisfaction scores and more efficient operations.

5. Scalability and Future-Proofing

Businesses grow and evolve, and their communication needs change accordingly. UC platforms are highly scalable, allowing companies to add new users, integrate new tools, or expand services without major system overhauls.

Cloud-based UC solutions provide flexibility for rapid growth, making them ideal for businesses planning expansion. Furthermore, UC systems continue to evolve with features such as AI-driven call analytics, virtual assistants, and workflow automation, ensuring your communication infrastructure remains future-ready.

6. Streamlined IT Management

Managing multiple communication tools can be a heavy burden on IT teams. UC simplifies management by centralising administration and providing unified reporting tools.

IT staff can monitor usage, track performance, troubleshoot issues, and deploy updates from a single platform, saving time and reducing complexity. Centralisation also enhances security, as IT can enforce consistent policies across all communication channels, protecting sensitive business data.

7. Increased Productivity

By reducing the friction of switching between apps and devices, UC allows employees to focus on core responsibilities. Instant access to colleagues, easy meeting scheduling, and integration with business applications reduce wasted time and keep workflows efficient.

A professional services firm we partnered with experienced a 25% increase in team productivity within three months of UC adoption. Employees reported less frustration with disconnected systems and more time devoted to client work.

8. Integration with Business Applications

Modern UC platforms integrate seamlessly with productivity tools such as Microsoft 365, CRM systems, project management platforms, and other business applications. This ensures communication is part of your broader workflow rather than happening in isolation.

For example, sales teams can make calls directly from their CRM, automatically log communications, and schedule follow-ups without switching systems. This level of integration boosts efficiency and provides valuable insights for management.

9. Better Analytics and Insights

UC systems offer powerful reporting and analytics tools, providing insights into communication patterns, call volumes, meeting participation, and employee engagement.

These insights help businesses optimise processes, identify inefficiencies, and make data-driven decisions. A customer service centre we worked with used UC analytics to reduce average call handling time by 15% while improving customer satisfaction.

10. Security and Compliance

Unified Communications platforms come with enterprise-level security features, including encryption, secure logins, and compliance tracking. This ensures sensitive business and client data remains protected across all channels.

For industries such as healthcare, finance, and legal services, this level of security is essential. UC helps businesses maintain compliance with industry regulations while enabling secure, efficient communication.

Conclusion

Unified Communications is no longer a luxury—it’s a strategic necessity. From enhancing collaboration and mobility to reducing costs and improving customer experiences, UC delivers measurable benefits for businesses of all sizes.

At Noisebox, we partner with Australian businesses to design and implement UC solutions tailored to their needs. Our approach ensures seamless integration, robust security, and measurable outcomes that empower teams to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

Investing in Unified Communications equips your business for a future where seamless communication drives productivity, customer satisfaction, and growth. Whether you are a small business looking to streamline operations or a large enterprise managing distributed teams, UC is the key to unlocking your organisation’s full potential.
